Rest in Peace, Spider - 6/18/95 - 12/13/12

I know this is an art blog, so maybe this is unprofessional of me.  But I also haven't posted a painting in awhile, and this is part of the reason why....so there's the art connection (if you needed one).

In my studio, I have a partially finished painting based on this photo.  I wonder if I'll ever be able to finish it now.  I wonder if I'll even be able to look at it now....

very sorry for your loss. We love our animals don't we? We had a puppy once that I didn't care for, but it had an untimely death. I bawled like an idiot for two days over that goofy little puppy.

Sorry to hear about the loss of Spider... loosing a pet is like loosing one of the family... I am sure you will find the strength to finish the painting in his memory!!!

Thank you all for thinking of me and Spider. Hard times....

Dear Meredith, I'm so sorry to hear 'Speedy Spider' (as I knew her) has passed...I figure she must have been about 17? She certainly was a very special little 'furry kid', and I will miss her too.

Yes, Westyman, 17 1/2. Hard to believe she's been gone a week now. She really liked you, btw.

Hi Mer,
Just checking in on the blog. Sorry you're missing Spider so much. Just yesterday I was thinking about how much I still miss Oliver.

Looking forward to seeing some new paintings.

Thanks, Stef. Oliver was a great cat. I'm working on a painting now, but in multiple time frames rather than alla prima like I usually do.

I lost my little poodle this past September. He was 17 1/2 years old too. I know how you feel. All we can do is remember the good times and how very lucky we were to have him in our lives. My sympathy and gentle thoughts.

Thanks, Robin. I remember being sad for you and sending you a note when your poodle died...so I know you understand. Such long-time friends...

Well, on a happier note, Watchers, please check out Robin's work---she is one of the best painters! Her use of color is astounding. You can find her by clicking on her name in her comment.

Meredith -
This photo of Rest in Peace, Spider was great!! That would be a great miniature painting with acrylic!!!! Have you painted miniatures? Love this photo!!

My posting is always late!! I looked at the photo and did read the info. I can feel your pain as we lost Jeffrie our kitty. I have painted several times. Anyway, I am sorry for your loss.

Thanks for your condolences, James. We do get close to them, don't we? I would love to see your cat pictures. Watchers, James is a landscape painter who also paints in acrylics. I have just discovered his work via WetCanvas. Check out his blog! Oh, and to answer your question, James, I do have a WIP on this photo but it is not a miniature.

I know your loss was awhile ago, but I completely understand. They never go away because they stay right there in our heart forever.
