Leggings - Acrylic with Palette Knife, 30 in 2014

Acrylic with Palette Knife, 8x10"

This photo was shot about 6 years ago and painted sometime that year.  The owner of the legs is also the owner of the original painting, my niece T.  I wanted to see how it would work to use a palette knife to paint it again.  Unfortunately, T and the painting live far away, so I will have to rely on my sister to tell me how this one compares with the original.  Funny how an image can stay with you for years!

Congratulations to all my artist friends who are completing the 30 in 30 Challenge.  I am so proud of you.  Congratulations, too, to my good friends who decided not to do the challenge this time.  You all are also doing fabulous work!

I love this painting. The pinks are so nice against the background especially. Great job. I didn't see the first one, but this is a winner.

Thanks, so much, Carol E. I finished this yesterday a.m., but of course it had to dry before I could scan, and I got a migraine yesterday, so couldn't scan/post till this a.m.--hence the early-birdness!

Thanks, Carol J.--the first one was painted before I even imagined having a blog, so I don't even have a photo of it!

Thank you so much for visiting, Myra and Martine! I enjoyed seeing your blogs, too.

And Cathy, as always, so wonderful to hear from you...thanks so much!

Wow, I am impressed that you did all the pattern in the socks with a palette knife. Great painting!!!

Thanks, so much, Jerry! There were times I thought about the paint brush, but decided to stick it out....

Love the legging and the owner of the legs and of course the painting. I remember the occasion and the original but not well enough to compare.

Meredith, this is so adorable. Love the playful composition and colors. And your intricate knife work is great. I see your practice paying off. This is my favorite of this challenge from you. Well done!

This is my second attempt at a comment. I hate trying to reconstruct what I already wrote. But basically the new one is more detailed and nuanced and really captures the look of my favorite baby tights. :)

The old one has a two-tone background, darker on the top, lighter on the bottom.

I was surprised to see this today!
