Acrylic, 7x5"
This is the one I mentioned that I did early in my recovery from the broken ribs. The one I had so much trouble photographing. This is the photograph I complained so much about. But this is the best photo of the bunch I took, and I figured it's time to show this painting since I talked about it (to some of you by email and by phone). I don't know why this photo is less representative of the painting than the apple photo. They were both photographed in natural light. Maybe it was the time of day? Anyhow, in the interest of full disclosure, here is my painting.
I started a painting of some bananas this weekend, but to be honest, I think I am going to end up eating them before I finish the painting!. They are just not holding my attention like the apple did (and I'm low on bananas). They don't seem to make as interesting a painting as the apple did, I think because the spotlight on them doesn't really create any strong highlights.
Happy Monday....

Like :) It's so loose and ephemeral.
Thank you once again, Mary!
Oh, BTW, Mary's comment somehow left out the link to her blog. Check her out her oil and acrylic landscapes at www.marymaupin.wordpress.com
This is wonderful Meredith! Love the shapes you created with the petals and how loose you are always able to keep your paintings. They always look full of fun and life!
OH, thanks Cathy! Funny thing is, I just made a similar comment on your blog about the painting of the babies looking full of life! You are doing such a fantastic job on your portraits.
I love the rose. It is beautiful. I love the background colors and how they make the rose pop. Wish I could see a video of how you do it.
First glad to see you painting again!!! Love the little rose and especially the definition of all the petals, which is difficult especially with --reds---
Don't worry about the photography part ... it a good shot... each time of day has its own color...
Oh, Sharon, I am just cracking up at the idea of anyone watching a video of me painting. I think it would be a comedy. No maybe a tragedy! I can't decide. It would be...probably unlike what you would imagine. Maybe someday I'll do one for your eyes only...! And btw, thanks for what you said about the painting. I appreciate it.
Thanks for your comment, Carol. I'm happy to be painting again, and glad you like the rose. And glad the photo passes! Have a good day today.
Love your rose!! Did you eat the subject of the other painting?
Love,
ME
Thanks, Mom...I took one more go at the bananas and then ate them!
Meredith, I love this --you are even good with broken ribs! Hope you are mending well.
Thanks, Marcia...I am getting there. I appreciate your stopping by...
