In Search of Brilliant Post Title--30 Paintings in 30 Days

"Winter Sunset"  Acrylic, 6x6"

I have to say that I really like this painting, but I also see its flaws...so I am posting but not putting up for sale on DPW at this time.  I may work on it some more or I may repaint it.  Or I may call it done and just keep it!

Keep up the good work, everyone!  And thanks for Watching...

Meredith,
We are always our toughest critics, aren't we? I'm not sure what the flaws are, but do understand. I'm also on DPW but don't always post my works. I just cancelled my subscription to DPW because nothing is selling. Hope your success is better.

Meredith, I just noticed we both used the same title for our paintings--
Winter Sunset! Such different interpretations. I like your painting just the way it is. I'm new to abstract landscapes, and it seems like you could just keep painting and changing parts forever--a slippery style.
It's fun working at it.

I don't know Meredith....I think I wouldn't mess with it! I love the colors..actually the whole thing...maybe leave it alone for a few days then look at it with fresh eyes. It's something I would buy as is! I don't see the flaws you see. I see great feeling in it...a pleasant mood!

Hello Meredith ... it is fun to contact someone on the other side of the US! (yes, I looked at your website to see where you are located)
This painting is really nice. I am wondering where you see the flaws? None jumps out at me - I see the foreground in shadow and a wee bit of light in the front left that reflects the sunset. And you are painting with acrylic! I have not experimented very much with those.
Happy Painting!

Hi Rebecca, thanks for stopping over. Nice to have someone understand what I mean, and nice to know other artists feel the same. Thank you!

Hi Paula, oh, funny, I hadn't noticed the titles! I am so glad you are having fun exploring the "slippery style" as you put it, of abstracted landscapes..

Cindy, thanks for the advice, which I will take...I won't touch this one, if I do anything, I will repaint it.

Hi Teri, thanks for visiting and for the vote of confidence. I really appreciate it. I have painted in acrylics most of the time, not as much in oils.

Thanks, Mary, and Woa! How did you do those hearts???

I love it Meredith, I would leave it.
I went down to the studio to do another version of my pre-dawn sky and decided I was way too tired, it will have to wait until tomorrow - I am no longer a day ahead - I'll have to do two!

Call me crazy but I love it.

I really like this painting, Meredith, I mean REALLY like it.
Make sure you have a definite plan before changing it. I have ruined too many paintings by thinking I could improve them. Maybe even better to just do a new painting.
Your color harmony is perfect in it.

You do so underestimate yourself. Great shape relationships and nice fresh colors. I see NO flaws!!!

Sandra--oh, do I know what you mean. Yesterday was SO tough at work, I came home and went straight to sleep. This was the second time this week...and thanks for the compliment on the painting.

Sharon--well, we know you ARE :) But thanks for the compliment on the painting!

Thank you, Julie...I am so happy you like the painting. I can definitely relate to the experience of decided to fix a painting and ending up ruining it. So I will leave this one alone and maybe repaint it later.

Thanks, Carol! I'm really happy you like this one.

Hi Meredith!!! I've been so busy, I nearly forgot to check on your 30-in-30 paintings. What fun to look back over the week's work. I love this winter scene! And the "Sweet End of Day" from yesterday's post. I hope you'll be coming to the BRAG meeting next week and will bring "Winter Sunset" so we can see it in person. Paint on!!!!!

I really like this painting - just the way it is!! Funny how we artists always find our "flaws" yet those may be the exact thing that attracts a buyer. Good luck with the challenge - nice work!

Hi Susan, thanks for your encouragement and compliments on the paintings. I hope to see you next week, too!

J.J., thank you, too, for your kind comment...I appreciate your stopping by, and enjoyed seeing your abstract collage paintings.
